Vandoren VK1 Bb clarinet

The new VK series of synthetic reeds are made from a composite material specially developed by Vandoren and is the result of seven years of research. The composite fiber does not imitate the structure of reed, but reproduces its essential physical characteristics to achieve the same acoustic behavior.

VK reeds perform significantly longer than natural reeds with a high degree of consistency.
VK reeds should be stored on a flat surface, preferably in a reed holder with a flat surface (not a standard reed holder).

The reeds can be used straight from the package, without any preparation. The material is washable and can be disinfected with alcohol or a food-grade disinfectant.

Six strengths are available for Bb clarinet. All strengths fall between 2.5 and 3.5 traditional reed strengths. The VK strengths correspond to thirds of the usual half-strengths.
