The Oboe thumb rest is the most advanced thumb rest that adapts to the individual anatomy of every musician's hand and can be adjusted in all directions to meet the highest individual requirements and guarantee an ideal hand position. The improved position of the thumb relative to the instrument has a direct and positive effect on the freedom of movement of the entire hand, especially the ring finger and little finger.
The ergonomics of the Oboe thumb rest are based on a hollow housing that can be adjusted from right to left. This allows the hand to "open up." The height is adjustable via the mounting slide. The padded thumb rest is adjustable in all directions by means of two ball joints and a hinge joint. The pressure point on the thumb has been moved from the first phalanx to the space between the two thumb joints. The lever travel is much smaller at this new point, making the weight much easier to carry than before and lower keys easier to reach.
The Oboe thumb rest is made of high-quality metal components and is designed to last a lifetime. Once properly installed and adjusted, the thumb rest requires no further adjustment. It comes with two solid metal mounting slides so you can use one thumb rest on multiple instruments.
