The Forza thumb rest provides a better, relaxed position for the right thumb, improving both the relaxation and freedom of movement of the other fingers, making technical phrases easier (faster) to play. The little finger also moves more easily to the two lowest keys.

The Forza thumb rest for saxophone is height-adjustable to ensure a more relaxed hand position. With the hinge on the left and the adjustment on the right, the right side, the "spoon," of the Forza can be adjusted for ergonomic thumb support. This keeps the thumb elevated, straight or slightly bent, and prevents it from sagging.

When you let your hand hang completely relaxed at your side/leg and then place it back on the instrument, you often notice that the old hook is in the way and that the thumb has a different angle. Not pulled inward with the thumbtip up, but the other way around. You can achieve this relaxed hand/thumb position with the Forza thumb rest. The thumb rests in the lower part of the "spoon." It can be straight or slightly bent, as the thumb usually is when you're not doing anything. This makes playing much easier.
