Légère Classic European Scrape oboe reeds are ready to play out of the package and never need to be moistened. The design provides a warm, centered sound with easy projection.

With respect to American to European scrape there are differences in both playing style and aesthetic features.
In terms of aesthetics or the appearance of the reed, American shaving reeds have a longer shaving than European reeds. Also, although not perceptible to the naked eye, the ratio between the center and the sides varies in the Gubiado.
Beyond these technical differences, the main difference is the playing, i.e. how each works. The idea behind the American Signature oboe reed is to allow the player to play with a minimum of embouchure tension/manipulation while maintaining timbre and sound quality. Classic European Scrape reeds, on the other hand, require a bit more manipulation/strain on the embouchure/muscle. They also sound somewhat different which may make one style more appealing than the other to the individual oboist.

All reeds are made with an initial gap between 0.68-0.72mm, but this will change after the reed has been played. The total length of the reed is 69.8-70.2 mm and plays at 440-442 Hz, depending on the placement in the reed well. They never need to be soaked and are not affected by weather conditions or humidity.
Ease of playing is why these reeds can be heard in some of the most prestigious orchestras and on stages and recording studios around the world.
