The Vandoren Black Diamond HD mouthpieces are made of a specially developed "High Density" ebonite. This material is the result of years of research and development by Vandoren. The high density enhances the natural acoustic properties of standard ebonite and optimizes the playing experience and feel. The Black Diamond HD mouthpieces showcase the natural sound of the clarinet, with a round and rich timbre. The HD mouthpieces have excellent projection and a full tone across the entire range. The articulation is simple and precise, resulting in greater control and ease of play. Vandoren developed the Black Diamond HD 13-series specifically for American clarinetists using the A440 pitch. The HD ebonite is of 100% natural origin.
